Coach Hollingworth, Head Coach 

Coach Hollingworth is a graduate from West Texas A&M University with a Master’s Degree in International Business and a Master's Degree in Education.

After opening Lone Star High School in 2010 as the assistant soccer coach, Coach Hollingworth took over the reins in 2015 and is beginning his sixth year as the head coach, with multiple playoff appearances. Coach Hollingworth brings 20 plus years of coaching experience at different levels including College, High School and Club level.

Coach Hollingworth began playing soccer in Pretoria, South Africa. At the age of 16 he made his debut for the Semi Pro Club Team, Arcadia Shepherds. While in South Africa he represented the State/Provincial team as well as the u/20 National Pool Team. After Graduation he was recruited by West Texas A&M University where he was a 4 year starter and a 2 year captain. Coach Hollingworth led the Buffaloes to two Conference Championships, two Regional Championships, 
and two NCAA Division II Elite Eight Appearances.

Sergio Lopez, Assistant Coach

Coach Sergio Lopez is beginning his sixth year as assistant soccer coach at Lone Star High School. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors in Spanish and a Minor in General Business.

Coach Lopez has 6 years of experience coaching soccer at Lone Star. He has played and been involved in soccer for a large portion of his life. His father Carlos Lopez has more than 20 years coaching High School soccer in Defiance, OH. The soccer passion has been a part Coach Lopez life since a young child as his family resides from Argentina and the passion for the sport was passed down from his grandfather who played professional soccer in Spain and also introduced the sport to the city of Defiance founding the youth program.

Coach Lopez is married to his beautiful wife Katherine, and they have three children, Pippa(9) and Xavier(7) and Finley (4).
